Seoul, South Korea — Group 2 has won 1st Place Best Idea Innovation Senior Level at Korea Youth Summit 2026. The award was presented for their project, CultureBridge AI: Reimagining Heritage through Youth & AI.
The project offers an innovative approach connecting technology, cultural preservation, and economic opportunities. This achievement highlights the work of three young people bringing diverse perspectives and expertise across countries.
The Team Behind CultureBridge AI
Behind the success of CultureBridge AI are three Group 2 members with different backgrounds and areas of expertise. Their cross-disciplinary collaboration became a key strength in developing solutions for heritage-related challenges.
Srinevetha Asaithambi Rajalakshmi — India
Do Cao Thuy Vy — Vietnam
Forkulitsa Olesia — Russia
Collaboration among participants from different backgrounds played an important role in developing this project.
Addressing Challenges in Cultural Heritage
CultureBridge AI was developed in response to the limited visibility of cultural communities in global digital markets. Artisans hold significant cultural value and economic potential, but access to opportunities remains unequal.
These challenges include the digital divide, language barriers, limited trust, and gaps in digital literacy. As a result, many artisan communities struggle to connect with global buyers and economic opportunities.
Through CultureBridge AI, Group 2 proposes digital infrastructure to make cultural heritage more discoverable and trusted.
The solution goes beyond creating another marketplace for cultural products. CultureBridge AI builds an ecosystem connecting cultural identity, AI technology, provenance, and market access.
This approach aims to protect community ownership while creating more sustainable economic opportunities.
Developing Cultural Digital Twins
One of the key innovations of CultureBridge AI is the Cultural Digital Twin. It serves as a digital identity for cultural heritage and its communities.
The Cultural Digital Twin records artisan identity, cultural origin, techniques, materials, provenance, rights, and production capacity. The system aims to create a verified and sustainable digital identity for cultural heritage. Through this approach, technology does more than digitize products and helps build trust around them.
CultureBridge AI also places communities in control of their cultural information. AI supports the translation, structuring, and discovery of cultural information.
Meanwhile, young people help provide context and support the validation process. No information is published without validation from the relevant cultural community.
Connecting Culture and Sustainable Economic Opportunities
CultureBridge AI goes beyond digitizing and discovering cultural products. The model also considers production readiness, quality, pricing, lead time, provenance, and artisan capacity.
This process aims to create sustainable economic relationships between artisans and buyers. The ultimate goal is not simply the first transaction, but long-term relationships and repeat demand.
In its development, CultureBridge AI targets a pilot project launch in 2027. The initial phase will include 20–30 Cultural Digital Twins and 10–15 Youth Heritage Fellows.
Further development will expand the cultural community network gradually and responsibly. Its long-term target covers five countries and a pathway toward more than 5,000 artisans.
Connecting Youth, Technology, and Cultural Heritage
The strength of CultureBridge AI lies in its cross-border and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Group 2 brings together talent from India and Vietnam with backgrounds in technology, healthcare, research, and social perspectives. This collaboration combines technology, strategy, analytics, welfare, and social impact.
A cross-disciplinary approach became an important part of designing solutions for cultural heritage challenges. The project also aligns with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
CultureBridge AI aims to protect heritage-based livelihoods while creating new economic pathways for young people. Through this approach, cultural preservation is not positioned as something limited to the past. Instead, cultural heritage becomes an asset that can thrive through innovation and economic opportunities.
Conclusion
The 1st Place Best Idea Innovation Senior Level award recognizes Group 2’s innovative project.
