Indonesian Traditional Costume Wins Best Costume Award at Korea Youth Summit 2025, Brought by MAN 2 Kota Malang Delegates

Seoul, South Korea – The Korea Youth Summit 2025, organized by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB), proved that youth leadership goes beyond intellectual exchange—it also includes cultural pride. One of the summit’s most anticipated segments, the Traditional Costume Parade, gave participants the opportunity to showcase their heritage through dress.
This year, the Best Costume Award was proudly won by two delegates from MAN 2 Kota Malang, Indonesia:
- Male Category: Nijananda Isha Al Farisy
- Female Category: Aulia Azizahra Rusdy
Their stunning representation of Indonesian traditional attire brought cultural identity to the global stage in a way that was both elegant and meaningful.
What They Wore: Culture in Every Detail
When asked about his outfit, Nijananda shared:
“Yeah, I'm wearing a Sunda attribute that's called Mojang Jajaka. The attributes are clothes with a yellow color and then a batik here and Sunda cap, that’s it.”
He proudly added:
“Hi everyone, today we are wearing traditional clothes from Indonesia.”
Meanwhile, Aulia Azizahra, winner in the female category, explained her attire:
“I'm wearing traditional costume from Sumatra with this one and the red costume, red gold costume.”
Their appearance drew admiration from fellow delegates and highlighted the rich cultural diversity within Indonesia itself.
The Judging Criteria
The Best Costume Award was determined based on several key aspects:
- Confidence and stage presence during the parade
- Visual representation and authenticity of cultural identity
- Uniqueness and connection to national or regional heritage
- Audience engagement and overall impression
The delegation from MAN 2 Kota Malang stood out for their elegance, poise, and pride in presenting traditional wear in front of a multicultural audience.
