These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Yayasan Youth Break the Boundaries, an Indonesian foundation ("YBB", "we", "us"), which runs Korea Youth Summit at https://koreayouthsummit.com. By creating an account, applying to a program or paying a fee, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. Who can use Korea Youth Summit
You must meet the eligibility requirements on the page of the program you apply to (for example an age range, and any other conditions the program states). Age limits differ by program. Participants aged 15 to 17 must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to register and take part. By registering, you confirm that you have that permission. We may ask for proof of age, identity or parental permission at any time.
2. Your account
You must give accurate, current information and keep it up to date. One person, one account. You are responsible for keeping your password and login methods (including your Google account) secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think someone else has accessed it. We may suspend an account that looks fraudulent, duplicated or compromised.
3. Applications and selection
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. Selection is decided by us and the program's review team, using the criteria and scoring described for the program, and our decision is final. We have no formal appeal process, but if you think a mistake was made, email [email protected] and we will look at it. We may reject, waitlist or withdraw an application, or ask for more information. An application that contains false, copied or misleading information (including essays written by someone else or presented as yours without disclosure) can be rejected or cancelled at any stage, including after selection, without refund.
4. Fees and payment
- Registration fee. Every applicant must pay the registration fee before the application can be submitted. It covers the cost of processing and reviewing applications.
- Program fee. If you are selected and the program charges a program fee, it is due by the deadline shown in your dashboard. Your place may be released if it is not paid on time. Some participants receive funding terms (for example "Fully Funded"); what is covered is set out in those terms.
- Currency and exchange rates. Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout, and a converted amount (for example IDR or USD) is shown before you pay. The final amount is the one on the checkout page and invoice. Your bank or card issuer may add its own fees or exchange margins, which we do not control.
- Payment methods. Payments are made by card, e-wallet or virtual account through our payment provider (Xendit), or by manual bank transfer with proof of payment uploaded to your dashboard. Manual transfers count as paid only after we verify them. Keep your proof until your payment shows as paid.
- Costs outside the fees. Unless a program says otherwise, you pay your own travel, visa, insurance and personal costs.
- Payment problems. You must only use payment methods you are entitled to use. We may refuse or reverse a payment we reasonably suspect is fraudulent or mistaken. If you think you were charged in error, email [email protected].
5. Refunds
Registration fees and program fees are non-refundable if you withdraw, are not selected, cannot attend, or cannot travel (including a visa refusal).
If Korea Youth Summit cancels a program because of circumstances beyond its control (natural disaster, war, epidemic, government restriction or similar), YBB will contact affected participants about refunding the fees paid for that program.
Reimbursements promised in a program's funding terms (for example for Fully Funded awardees) are separate from refunds and are paid as described in those terms.
The full policy is at https://koreayouthsummit.com/refund-policy and forms part of these Terms.
6. Program changes and cancellation
Dates, venues, formats, speakers, schedules and the number of places can change. We may switch a program between in-person, online or hybrid, or move or shorten it, where we reasonably need to (for example for safety, government restrictions, low enrolment or venue problems). We will tell you through the email on your account and your dashboard. Section 5 describes what happens to fees if a program is cancelled.
7. Visas, travel and health
Obtaining a visa, passport, travel documents, vaccinations and insurance is your responsibility. We may issue a Letter of Acceptance or invitation letter (and can withdraw one obtained through false information), but we cannot promise that an embassy or border officer will accept it, and we are not responsible for refusals, delays or travel disruption. Tell us in good time about medical conditions, dietary needs or special needs that we should plan for. Unless a program says otherwise, we do not provide travel or health insurance. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for your health and belongings, to the extent the law allows.
8. Your conduct
You agree not to: give false information; harass, discriminate against or endanger others; copy, sell or misuse program materials; attempt to disrupt or break into the platform; use bots or scrape personal data; share your login; abuse referral or ambassador codes; or break the law or local rules while taking part. Participants must follow the rules of conduct and venue rules we communicate for each program. We may remove you from a program or the platform for serious or repeated breaches, with no refund.
9. Content, photos and intellectual property
You keep ownership of what you submit (essays, answers, photos, CV and other documents). You give YBB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to run the program: review your application, score and select, communicate with you, issue documents and keep records.
YBB may also use photos and videos taken at events, and essays or excerpts you submitted, for program operations and to promote Korea Youth Summit and other YBB programs (for example in reports, on our websites and on social media). You can opt out of this at any time by emailing [email protected]. An opt-out applies going forward: we will stop new uses, but we cannot recall material that has already been published or printed.
You promise that what you submit is yours or you have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. The platform, the Korea Youth Summit name and logos, and all program materials belong to us or our licensors; you may not use them without permission.
10. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy at https://koreayouthsummit.com/privacy.
11. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The platform and programs are provided "as is". We aim for accuracy and reliability but do not promise the platform will always be available or error free, or that taking part will lead to any particular result (such as admission, jobs, scholarships or visas). To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, or travel or visa costs, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to a program is limited to the fees you paid for that program. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the platform and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if we must by law, or if a program is cancelled. Sections that by their nature should continue (for example fees, content licence, liability and governing law) survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in your dashboard. Continuing to use the platform after the change means you accept it. Changes do not affect fees you have already paid under the earlier Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. If that fails, the courts of Jakarta, Indonesia have exclusive jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence, if any, are not affected.
